These are three pictures of my dog curled up on a granite cliff on an island off the West coast of Sweden. I was going to upload them separately, but I realized how harmonically they fit together as a series. Editing, I boosted the color in all three images, changed the saturation and tint, and increased the sharpness, all with the goal of amplifying the beautiful colors and conveying the different textures in the photograph, such as my dog's hair and the pink cliff. In the first image, I like the misalignment--it looks dizzy, seasick (in a good way that emphasizes the nautical look of the image); the lines of the cliff are on multiple diagonals, my dog is lying in a slightly twisted way, and the horizon is not horizontal. The same lack of alignment is evident in the other two pictures as well, which, aside from their sameness of subject, links them together. Tinny
I took this picture, ironically, in the parking lot next to Clonmacnoise in Ireland; most of the other negatives on this picture's roll of film were of ancient Irish ruins, and yet, this car looked worse preserved than the Viking-sacked cloister. As is often the case in Ireland, the weather was overcast when I took this, and therefore the extraction of crisp whites and blacks was difficult, even with a high filter (also, the scanner added the sepian tone). This is an acrylic painting on 8 by 11 inch canvas that I recently finished painting. What is really interesting about this painting is that, close up, the brindle pattern of their coats does not look realistic at all. However, backing up, the coloration looks almost real. While working on this painting, I learned to keep working even if it doesn't satisfy up close because oftentimes, the answer is to step back and look again from there. Tinny
Here is another shot from the Central Park shoot. This one is in colour, and I cannot decide which I like better. She is facing the camera here which I think makes the shot completely different from the other one.
Whilst I was in New York Tinny and I did a whole bunch of photoshoots a few of which were in central park. This shoot was the day after Tinny and I got shirts from one of the only remaining artist groups in Soho, Missfits NYC. Hers had a leopard on it. We took a few pictures and this ended up being one of my favourites. She seems to almost merge with the surroundings but not blend in.It may be a bit pixelly, after I converted file typesEnjoy ~Lionfro~
